The producers of the first-ever musical on Brenda Fassie's life are having an open audition on 2 August to find the perfect understudy for 'Brenda' before the show moves to the Pretoria State Theatre for a full run from 3 to 26 September.

Already ‘Ma-Brrr' left theatregoers speechless during a short run at the Vereeninging Civic Theatre early in July when Isidingo actress Lesego Motsepe stepped into the spotlight in the role of Brenda - and blew everyone away with her ability to evoke the sounds and soul of the beloved singer.

The August  auditions are to find an understudy for Motsepe who continues her role as Brenda in the upcoming State Theatre run of "Ma-Brrr'. To take part in the audition, go to the Windybrow Theatre in Johannesburg on 2 August between 09h00 and 16h00. Those auditioning must have gone through the audition side.

Says director Jerry Mofokeng, "We are looking for someone special, with an incredible spark and ability to sing like Brenda, to come on as the understudy for our full run at the State Theatre in September."
